- Easy drive up Hwy 50 to Kyburz to stay for the night. Lucky to get an early start and one of the few first come, first serve campsites at the lake.
- Headed a little cross country to Emerald Pools and spend time swimming and floating in the waters.
- Enjoyed the wilderness! Wrights Lake was big, shallow and has a stunning backdrop.

Highlights
- Tough but scenic hike to Twin Lake. Thunderclouds gathered, and we got out of the water for a short rain shower, but most of the afternoon we enjoyed floating and swimming in the lake.
- Lots of crowds.
- Made it back to Wrights Lake to watch the light change again and a spectacular sunset.

RECAP
- Location: Wrights Lake with day hikes to Enchanted Pools and Twin Lake.
- Date: August 2020.
- Why we chose this trip: We wanted to plan a family camping trip for the end of summer break. We looked for campsites that we hadn't been to in the South Lake Tahoe area and that weren't too far off from a major road.
Glad we went - it's now one of our favorite places!
